How do I get to Tonga?
All of our Tonga tours are based in Vava’u, the northern-most island group. There are 2 routes to fly into Vava’u:
- VIA TONGATAPU. You can fly into the main island of Tonga which is called Tongatapu. The capital city is called Nukuʻalofa and the airport there is called Fuaʻamotu International Airport. Nuku’alofa (Tongatapu) is accessible by flights from Australia (Qantas), New Zealand (Air New Zealand) and Fiji (Fiji Airways). Then there is a local airline called Lulutai running domestic flights between Tongatapu and Vava’u.
- VIA FIJI. Fiji Airways flies direct from Nadi to Vava’u on certain days. Please check with Fiji Airways for the most direct route.
What if my international flight doesn’t match up with the domestic flight timings?
Most flights arriving into Nuku’alofa may require an overnight stay before flying to Vava’u due to the New Airline Lulutai flight schedule not matching international arrivals.
We want to arrive early/stay later, why aren’t there any flights on a Sunday?
Due to Tongan custom, there are no flights or business trading on a Sunday so you will need to take this restriction into consideration when arranging travel.
I’m not sure my flights are correct. Help!
We are happy to check your travel arrangements for you prior to your booking them, or introduce you to one of our trusted travel agents, please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time!
How to I get to Norway
Our Orca tours in Northern Norway depart from Tromsø, the gateway to the Arctic, situated 350km above the Arctic circle. You can fly to Tromsø directly from many European countries. Otherwise there are daily flights from Norway’s capital city Oslo direct to Tromsø, which take approx 1hr 50 mins.
How to get to the Great Barrier Reef
Our trip to snorkel with Minke whales & dive the Barrier Reef begin in Cairns, tropical north Queensland, Australia. This is where we board our liveaboard vessel. Depending on which country you are travelling from, you may be able to fly directly to Cairns, but most likely you may transit through another city such as Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney. If traveling from within Australia, there would be daily flights from most major domestic airports.
